Canine Acclimation, Part 1:

My foster siblings, Molly and Roxy are two 9-ish year old mutts. For the first week in my foster home, I preferred to stay in my room and investigate the mutts from afar. On only day 5, my foster mom was kind enough to tire the dogs out, allowing me to venture downstairs, undetected, and check them out to my heart's content while they slept soundly. After only a week, I ventured into their space without worry and now I stand my ground and make them sweat when I so choose. My favorite game is to sniff the food in their food bowls and to plant myself in the middle of the staircase to cut off their upstairs/downstairs access. They respect my authority unconditionally now.
